Ninety Years On The Bay
Pouring on the Newport bayfront since 1935, The Barge Inn Tavern has watched the harbor change for ninety years and stayed exactly itself. Locals call it the original — the kind of corner where dock workers, charter captains, and Highway 101 travelers end up on the same row of barstools.
The room hasn't chased trends. It's never tried to be anything other than a working tavern: cold beer, hot food off the grill, sports on the TVs, and a door that opens at 8AM every single morning. The bar's seen Prohibition's tail end, the rise and fall of the timber economy, the fishing fleet that built modern Newport, and ninety winters of bayfront weather rolling in off the Pacific.
Through all of it, the regulars kept showing up. That's the whole story.

Self-given, fondly earned, and printed on the merch. If you've sat at the bar more than twice, congratulations — you're one of them now.
