Where The Harbor Still Works
The Newport Bayfront is not a boardwalk. It is a working harbor — fishing boats unloading at the docks, sea lions hollering off the pilings, fish processors humming a block from the bar. Tourists come for the boat tours and the aquarium-bound walk; the crews come for somewhere to sit down after the shift.
The Barge has been part of that block since 1935. We are not the only bar on Bay Blvd, but we are the one with the sports packages, the cheeseburgers, and the regulars who have been on the same stool since the Reagan administration.
